Go With Books

The Shapiro Undergraduate and the Hatcher Graduate libraries on campus have lots of valuable books and print resources that will help you with your research. We have selected a list of particularly helpful resources to get you started and some resources to delve more deeply into your research – click the link on the title to jump to the library’s Mirlyn catalog page for each book.

In this section on print resources, we’ve also included a guide on how to order material from Special Collections: there are rare versions or first editions of many of the major works by the key figures we have discussed in this guide available at Special Collections. These resources are building-use only: you can make an appointment and peruse them there in person.

From a work’s online catalog listing in Mirlyn, you can either find its call number and track it down in the stacks yourself (a useful strategy if you would like to browse nearby resources, which will have similar subject matter) or you can click the small grey “Get this” button – you can then select the campus library to which you’d like the item delivered, and it will be brought there for you, free of charge, within the next several days (you will receive an email notification when it is available for pick-up at the library’s front desk).
